US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the war in Iran will be among the issues discussed with Chinese President Xi Jinping during their meeting in Washington on Thursday.
Xi arrived in the US on Wednesday for a three-day state visit, with the summit also expected to cover trade, tariffs, Taiwan, technology and artificial intelligence.
The Iran conflict adds another major foreign-policy issue to the Trump-Xi agenda as Washington and Tehran continue diplomatic contacts aimed at ending the war and resolving the dispute over the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Beijing has maintained economic ties with Tehran, including its role as a major buyer of Iranian oil, while the US has continued to pressure Iran through sanctions and military measures.
