Synopsis: The TDP-led NDA juggernaut made inroads and captured YSRCP strongholds, hitherto considered impregnable.

For the YSRCP, the results are a major blow: it lost all but three wards in Jagan Mohan Reddy's constituency of Pulivendula and won none in Jammalamadugu.

Though Jagan alleged the election was rigged, the results have given YSRCP enough reason to introspect.

The Andhra Pradesh municipal election results have set the stage for intriguing developments in Kadapa, the home district of YSRCP chief and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) decimated the YSRCP.

For the first time, the TDP has its flag fluttering over the Pulivendula municipality—a bastion that has politically stood by the YS family for decades—marking the single most critical highlight of the election results.

Soon after the results were announced, Jagan said the polls were rigged with the help of the police and the state Election Commission.

In the Pulivendula municipal chairperson election, NDA's Geetha Kumari registered a resounding victory over YSRCP candidate YS Prameela with a massive majority of 13,875 votes.

Out of the 40 wards in Pulivendula municipality, the NDA captured 37 wards, leaving YSRCP with just three.

Party-wise, TDP won 34 wards, BJP won 2, and Jana Sena secured 1, while YSRCP claimed 3 seats.

This setback in Pulivendula—the constituency represented by Jagan—has gained immense political significance.

Voters backing the NDA in an area once renowned as the YS family's impregnable bastion signals a notable shift in local political equations.

Beyond capturing the civic chief post, the massive-margin win has injected tremendous enthusiasm into the NDA ranks.

Alleging that their party candidates were prevented from filing nominations and that polling agents were barred from entering 70 booths on polling day, Jagan had personally staged an agitation.

He held a sit-in protest outside the Returning Officer's (RO) office and approached the High Court seeking a stay on vote counting.

However, on the morning of Tuesday, 3 November, before the counting started, the High Court delivered its ruling, giving the green signal for counting to proceed in Pulivendula, which witnessed poll-related violence.

NDA sweep in Jammalamadugu In Jammalamadugu, another key town in Kadapa district, the NDA showcased unchallenged dominance.

Elections were held across 32 wards, and NDA candidates won every seat.

The TDP secured 20 wards, the BJP won 10, Jana Sena bagged 2, and YSRCP won none.

The chairperson has yet to be declared, but these results firmly demonstrated the....
